AWS Log Cost
For a few years now I have been monitoring the number of, and size of, the log files that Amazon creates as I use AWS for web hosting. Given that I use CloudFront as the CDN and S3 as the back-end storage, there are two families of log files created. This very short post is simply to report the numbers for the last few years of usage, and serves as an update to a blog post about AWS Log Cost that I wrote after only a few months of AWS usage.
Hopefully the below plots can help you estimate your own usage by using the Amazon S3 pricing calculator (for context, the web site has around 1,000 hits per day). You may download the data as a CSV file if you wish.
